MAT HOIST® OPERATING PROCEDURE

PREPARATION:

The unit is operational with the key and the key must be held during the entire lowering/raising.

Have the wrestling mats rolled up and moved within about 4’ from where the loadbar will come down.

It is suggested to mark the center of the sling inside on both ends this allows you to center the sling below the loadbar which prevents unnecessary sway while raising it.

LOWERING AND LOADING:

1. With the key in the key switch, turn it to the down position. You must hold it in place.
2. Lower the loadbar until it is about 4” to 6” higher than the height of the wrestling mats rolled diameter.
3. When the loadbar is down to this height, unhook the side of the sling closest to the mats. (Some like to unhook both sides but is not required)
4. Tuck the sling S-hooks under the sling, so the mat doesn’t get damaged as it rolls into the sling.
5. Keep the ends of the mats evenly distributed within the sling.
a. If overall mat is 40’ the ends will be even with the end of the sling
b. If mat is 42 plus feet there should be an equal amount at each end of the sling
6. When all sections of the mat are in the sling, hook the S-hooks back onto the loadbar. Start at one end to keep hooks and holes lined up.

ELEVATION:

1. After all the S-hooks are hooked onto the loadbar, turn the key switch to the up position and HOLD.
2. As the loadbar is going up, there will be some creaking noise. This is typical; the cables are aligning and stretching.
3. As the loadbar goes up and reaches the under part of the hoist, stop it within 8” to 10” from the hoist’s sheet metal housing. The installer should have already set the limit switches so that the loadbar automatically stops at this distance or lower.

NEVER

1. LET ANYONE STAND DIRECTLY UNDER THE MAT HOIST® WHILE IT IS IN OPERATION!
2. LET ANYONE RAISE UP ON THE ENDS OF THE LOADBAR AS IT WILL CAUSE THE CABLES TO UNRAVEL. (THUS THE LOADBAR MAY BE UNLEVEL)
