Mat Hoist® Facts
Entire System Load Tested to 17,500 pounds to assure safety
To our knowledge, NGE Inc. is the only three (3) cable system that was actually installed in an independent Omaha testing laboratory facility exactly as it would be suspended from a gymnasium ceiling. The Mat Hoist® wrestling mat storage system was clamped to an I-Beam truss with NGE standard clamps, B7 support rods and nuts. All three (3) cables were attached to the load bar which allowed for testing the load bar for deflection. To ensure personal and school safety, proved maintenance free operation and long life the Mat Hoist® wrestling mat storage system is the specification all architects should use.
Architectural Primary Specifications
• The structural “back bone” is a 20 foot I-Beam as the frame including CL-5 unit clamps attaching to NGE universal suspension truss clamps.
• Load tested to 17,500 pounds for safety with results available upon request.
• Mechanically efficient direct helical gear drives the heavy duty twenty (20’) long keyed shaft with three (3) cable drums. Requires no cable pulleys to double motor lift.
• Industrial three (3) phase electric power source for all Mat Hoist® mat storage systems proved energy efficient drawing less amperage, and providing more power to the motor.
• Five (5) and ten (10) year warranties.
• Proved maintenance free by over 30 years of use.
• The proved usage of the one industrial motor system by NGE requires no synchronizing of motors as with a two motor / two cable approach using pulleys.
• Attached bells, whistles, safety straps and synchronizing units are not necessary on Mat Hoist® mat storage system models. The limit switches of the Mat Hoist® mat storage system prevent hoist or structural damage if an operator is inattentive.
Competitors Untested Models
Competitors make a cheaper non tested two or three cable mat storage system. This came about for multiple reasons of which the main one is their viewed need to be able to offer a complete line of gymnasium equipment to the architect. Two companies ordered Our Mat Hoist® wrestling mat storage system, and “reproduced” it as theirs. This was an obvious infringement, which resulted in THEIR having to redesign yielding a cheaper inadequately engineered version. Others created an inefficient two motor / two cable system which requires frequent maintenance adjustments by electricians to synchronize the system. Some companies are still using the phrase “mat hoist” implying Mat Hoist® which is still an unethical marketing approach.
